2009: You have to take the good with the bad
“You’ve got to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you’ve got, and remember what you had. Always forgive, but never forget. Learn from mistakes, but never regret.” - Unknown
I borrowed this idea to list the good and the bad, from my relative, Janae. It’s a good idea to reflect… especially since “It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s...

The holiday season is entering the home stretch, but flu season is just getting going. And so, we’re warned, the upcoming New Year’s parties and homeward airplane trips and visits to the mall to return our gifts won’t just mean encounters with crowds, they will mean opportunities for infection.
But even as public health officials exhort people to get their shots and sneeze into...
What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step. It is always the same...
– Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (via psychotherapy)
It’s so hard to take those steps. Those first steps. One of the truest things I ever heard was…no matter how far down the wrong path you’ve gone, you’ve gotta turn back. And it really is hard when you feel like you’ve gone...

Promises
This morning I was browsing through facebook, and I came across a link to my Pastor’s blog. http://pastorneil.blogspot.com. The first blog he posted caught my eye; it was entitled, Promises, Promises—Jeremiah 33:14-16
He said “to take a quick look at the promises we live our lives by. Just, very quickly have us examine our own lives, see what promises that we hold onto, for...
10 bizarre things you didn't know about Christmas →
This is pretty interesting. My personal “did you know?” favorite is number 4 about wassailers. So a wassailer is one who enjoys riotous drinking. Mmk, coolio. But what’s up is that these wassailers don’t just drink, but they invade homes too. They trespass into a home and demand food and won’t leave until they get some. And if they’re forced out, they vandalize...
I'm addicted
…to movies lately. I must watch one everyday. x[ This break I’ve watched Funny People, Adventureland, Pineapple Express, Bride Wars, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Sweet Home Alabama… and I can’t even keep track. I think there may be one or two more. x[ OH man, the first step is admitting it, right?
Today I watched I’ll be home for Christmas with the once-loved JTT. Oh,...

killme.
i don’t even get to keep the books.

I have been really, really, inexplicably adverse to watching serious movies. Only light-hearted with a happy ending for me, please. I don’t know why.

I had the best time with my sisters in san diego.
First stop: Lolita’s. Best carne asada fries. AND! We ran into three Kappa alumni. So random and awesome.
I’ve never been to Balboa Park and it is AHHHMAZING! I can’t say enough how much I love that place, must go back and see it all. I could spend days there.
Then we watched Stomp the Yard… “is this the movie where...

Something More
thealvisin:
The thing that I love about books is that it gives ability to escape into someplace else instead of this box I often trap myself in. It’s what inspires me to make my own adventures.
I just finished rereading A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle. Last time I read it, I think I was in elementary school. I had to make one of those shoebox dioramas depicting a scene and it turned out...

if you know a little something about me and my taste in movies, i’m a sucker for those sappy ones that have moments that resonate with you.
and there’s a little secret in this trailer that makes me smile.

I hated breaking dawn so much that I’ve thought about writing a fanfic for a couple of days. like a legit one. but then I realized I’m not a good writer. Well at least a good fiction writer. Womp womp. So i guess I can just write a really scathing review about why I hate it, and how I would have done it, were I an actual good fiction writer. Haha that should make me feel better. And...
Xanga.com
Oh the neglected Xanga, how I loved you when I was younger. I really did update my xanga fairly regularly. I actually don’t remember that. lol. But evidently I did. from a period around 2003 up until summer of 2008. I’ve read it randomly just to catch another glimpse of myself from that time. It’s like I’m looking at my old self anew each time because I’ve changed...
So I left my computer in my sister’s room. As far as I knew she was asleep, or trying to be. I also know her to be a light sleeper, and a cranky one at that. So I tried very, very hard to be quiet. And then she stirred and said something, and I was like shiet. And then I thought, wait, what did she say? And then I realized she had whispered I love you, good night, be safe when you sleep.

i watched it a few days ago too! do it! :)
whoa what the heezy, that is crazy.
rrrogerthattt:
This is crazy. It’s called “What English Sounds Like to Foreigners” and it’s just gibberish, but it’s crazy how you feel like he’s saying something coherent so you try to figure out what he’s saying, but it’s just gibberish.
